Smetek hydraulic presses
Special presses, rebuilding and service
SMETEK Presser was aquired by KUNI Maskinfabrik A/S in 2009.
SMETEK Presser had been founded in Odder by Bent Jensen in 1988 and has in recent years built approx. 100 press units, some of which have been major refurbishments and modernisation of very large hydraulic presses, both in Denmark and abroad, including especially the USA and England.
The SMETEK product will be marketed primarily to the metal industry and associated industries with the construction of special presses, alteration and not least service within this business area.
The heaviest press produced to date weighs 350 tons and has the capacity to press 13,900 tons.
SMETEK hydraulic presses are manufactured customised to the needs of each individual user in the size range from 25 to 10,000 tons in 1-6 axis design.
Technical description
Pumps:
The pumps are submerged in the oil and driven directly by electrical motors. The main pump is an axial piston pump of the bent axis type with constant power control and remote hydraulic control that allows you to adjust the pressing speed. Additional pumps for operation of cushion-, triple action cylinders etc. can be added to the powerpack. Vane pumps are used for low pressure – and piston pumps for high pressure applications. All pumps are of the best quality and of well-known manufacture.
Safety:
A ”Safety Block” is included in the powerpack.
This safety block includes 3 valves forming a dual hydraulic system. In accordance with the Health and Safety Regulations the safety block will be mounted on the press frame as close as possible to the connection from the return cylinder(s) of the ram. The valves of the safety block are controlled by a dual electric circuit.
Retrofit package for hydraulic presses:
In addition to the production of presses, we offer to perform service and rebuilding on both own as well as foreign makes of presses.
Service:
Smetek offers service and supply of spare parts.
Furthermore, it is possible to optimise an existing press by rebuilding.
